A new wellbeing programme for Metlifecare retirement village residents, Your Best You, captures the promise of health and vitality at any age.
Developed in partnership with AUT, and drawing on their expertise, Your Best You first came alive at Metlifecare’s Greenwich Gardens village, with legendary All Black Buck Shelford as champion and role model.
An ardent proponent of proactive health choices, Buck took part in activities alongside residents as together they worked to discover the best versions of themselves. Recording his own progress via a video diary, he experienced everything from Aqua Zumba to Mah Jong. Every part of him felt re-energised after a month of Your Best You activities!
At the heart of Your Best You is the premise that our overall wellbeing is not just about being physically active, but in fact has six dimensions – physical, social, emotional, vocational, intellectual and spiritual.
The programme offers an extensive suite of activities within those six dimensions, giving residents incredible choice and variety, and enabling them to discover true, holistic wellbeing.
Due to roll out to all our villages in 2019, the new programme simply makes it easier to get involved, as much or as little as you want, and on the path to discovering Your Best You!
Take a look at our video below to see how Buck and the residents of Greenwich Gardens enjoyed Your Best You.
