A few facts about Scrabble

Scrabble was an American game-show hosted by Chuck Woolery.  It ran from 1984 to 1990, then briefly in 1993.

The Scrabble World Champion for 1993 (Mark Nyman, UK), learned 10,000 words from the American Dictionary in order to prepare for the tournament.

Scrabble is ranked second only to Monopoly, as the best board game in the USA..

Scrabbling, Scrabbled and Scrabbles – these are the derivatives for the word Scrabble.  They means ‘to claw or scrape at something frantically’, derived from the Dutch word ‘Schrabbelan’.
