Retirement Lifestyle where city meets wine country – Country Club Huapai

Construction has begun on the Country Club Huapai, an exciting new offering in the Retirement Village sector. The village located in Huapai North-West Auckland, is on the original site of the Nobilo Estate winery, this is a retirement lifestyle – where city meets wine country.

The project is a joint venture with lifestyle property and retirement developers – Hopper Developments Ltd and Cabra Developments Ltd – Land & Property Development and is part of the Hopper Living Retirement Group.

Hopper Developments is a family owned and run business established in 1956 and is well known for its lifestyle waterways projects located in Coromandel and Northland and the successful Maygrove Retirement Village in Orewa. Country Club Huapai is the third retirement village to begin construction under its Hopper Living brand and will offer high quality lifestyle retirement options for its residents.

Cabra Developments Ltd is also a family established business that has over 30 years’ experience in the land and property development industry. Cabra has several high-quality sub-division communities currently under development, including the neighbouring Huapai Triangle project which upon completion will house up to 2,500 new residents. They take pride in establishing communities that offer a balanced lifestyle with generous reserve areas and public spaces.

This joint venture of two well known, high quality lifestyle developers gives confidence that this is not your run-of-the-mill type village and that the Country Club Huapai is offering a new standard of luxury for the active retiree.

The Country Club Huapai obtained its Resource Consent in December 2017 and on-site construction has commenced. The first housing in the village comprises of 15 architecturally designed, single level villas and the first 13 homes will be completed in mid-2019. The main building facility and stylish apartments will commence in early 2019. Project Manager Howard Jury says, “Interest in the village has been positive with multiple expressions of interest begin signed within the first few days of the sales office opening, local residents seem pleased to have such an offering in their neighbourhood”

The first stage of the main facilities will include a welcoming and light reception area much like a resort hotel, a restaurant & bar, meeting & social activity spaces plus 46 apartments on the upper levels. The wellness centre will include a luxurious indoor pool, spa and gym facility and the outdoor leisure area shall be thoughtfully landscaped and include a bowling green, pentanque court and croquet lawn.

Upon completion the community is planned to have 200+ dwellings, together with an aged care facility.

The Country Club is well positioned with the Northwest shopping centre only a short drive away and close to several great wineries, restaurants, cafes, golf courses and stunning beaches. The drive to the CBD is surprisingly quick, roughly 30 minutes to the shops and restaurants downtown, so you can have your city fix or catch- up with family or friends with ease.

Hoppers & Cabra tasked Ignite Architects with the master planning and architectural design. Ignite took inspiration from the site’s winery heritage and has created an elegant country club style village that will create a new standard in premium retirement living.

Residents will be able to select from a range of accommodation types under an “Occupational Right Agreement” including a choice of spacious freestanding single story villas and stylish apartments. The village is registered under The Retirement Village Act and is a member of the Retirement Villages Association.
