It used to be that every family had a family card game night. Families looked forward to sitting down at the end of the week for a good card game. Family game night brought everyone together and helped families to stay close. In today's world it is so easy to just say you are too busy. It is easy to sit in front of the television or computer instead of getting your family together. If you really want to feel close as a family and to bond like families used to then you need to bring back a family card game night.

To begin with you need to get all the supplies together. You will need a place to play, chairs for everyone and a deck of cards. Your family dining room table may work or you might want to get a card table that you can set up and take down. Find something that will accommodate your whole family.

You should then start to make plans about the best time for your family game night. You know your families schedule best so just sit down and try to find the best time when everyone can be together. You may have to insist that they make accommodations. Some plans may need to be changed at first. Eventually, though, once you solidify family card game night everyone will know not to make plans.

You will also need to figure out what card games to play. If you have never played as a family you may need to teach some members how to play. Try to choose simple, yet entertaining games to begin with. Once everyone starts to get skilled you can increase the difficulty of the games. Also keep in mind the ages of family members. You want to ensure everyone can be involved no matter how young they are. The best thing about card games is that even the easiest game is still a lot of fun.

You should make your family game night something special. This may help if you have older children who may not be so interested in spending a night with the family. You should make it like a party. Plan out snacks and even put together some great music. You want to create an atmosphere that will make every family member want to be involved.

Make sure that you have a good deck of cards on hand. You might want to have a couple. Some card games involve more than one deck. You should also gather up items to use for betting. This might actually be a good way to get the family involved and excited about playing. You can have family members save pennies so they have something to bet with when family game night comes along.

When the night finally comes to pull off your family game night you must be strict about it. Make sure everyone is there. Do not take excuses, which many teens will likely try to give you. Insist that everyone attends. Pull out the snacks, put on the music and get those cards dealt. In no time anyone who didn't want to be there will be changing their mind and glad they sat down.

Family card game night is not something that has to be a concept from long ago. Today's families can get together just as families in the past did. You can bring your family together for some old fashioned fun. You will be glad that you did because coming together on family game night is one way to keep your family together.
