Keeping up with how we listen to music can be frustrating. Every time we purchase our music in a certain format they go and invent something new. We are music buffs from way back and in our house you will find LP’s, tapes, CD’s and mp3 players.
These days a lot of our listening pleasure is done via Spotify – an App available on mobiles, tablets, and computers.
There are two versions of Spotify a free version, which includes occasional advertising or the Premium version for a monthly subscription of $12.99.
The free version requires internet access through either Wi-Fi or Mobile data. Premium allows you to download songs to your device so that you can listen off line, or are out of WiFi range thus saving on Mobile data.
One account will allow you to access the App on four different devices. Some smart tv’s can also access this App. The only disadvantage of this is if someone is using the App on one device you can’t use it on the others. Spotify also offer a one month free trial of the Premium version.
An advantage of Spotify is the millions of songs available from artists across all genres and ages, so whatever your taste in music you will find it. It’s as easy as entering either the artist or song into search. Another advantage of the App is being able to download or save individual songs to Playlists, rather than the entire album, so that you can listen to a range of artists while on the move.
A disadvantage of using an App to store or download music is the songs are only playable using the App and can’t be transferred to another device such as an MP3 player or CD, though this isn’t a problem if your mobile is also used as your music storage system.

Good morning hoggfam, unfortunately there is no easy way to save songs from Spotify onto your computer. They are limited to listening on the spotify only.
