If you anyone who loves unicorns, make sure you let them know the good news: once upon a time, early humans and Neanderthals might have once walked among unicorns.
Elasmotherium sibiricum, or the Siberian unicorn, had a long horn and a furry body – but was probably built a little like a rhino. Sadly, you won’t be able to spot one today – they went extinct around 39,000 – 35,000 years ago, around the time of the woolly mammoth’s extinction.
