Originally called Split Ends, the Auckland art-rock band burst onto the music scene in the early 1970s. ‘I got you’ was written and sung by Neil Finn and featured a chorus reminiscent of the Beatles.
After years of struggling this song launched them to international stardom with a their first No.1 hit in New Zealand, it also reached the top of the charts in Australia and Canada. Over the years, this has become a tru Kiwi classic.
