Cathay Pacific has a brand new aircraft, the A350-900, which will be flying to New Zealand from October 2016, offering increased comfort and efficiency for passengers and the environment. This high-tech new generation aircraft will replace the Airbus A340s that are currently used on the route, and from December will be joined by a B777-300 for the New Zealand summer peak period.

The A350 aircraft will offer a more comfortable long-haul flight experience, which will benefit both regular and occasional travellers.

New technology aboard the A350 includes:

  • WiFi internet access
  • A dedicated mobile/tablet dock in Economy and Premium Economy, designed at eye level so passengers can enjoy viewing on their own device.
  • Free access to BBC, CNN and Euronews live satellite television channels from their personal inflight entertainment system.
  • More space in Business Class.
  • Carbon fibre used extensively in the wings and fuselage, making it stronger and lighter than current aircraft
  • The A350 is approximately 50% quieter due to the new Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines.
  • Passenger fatigue will be reduced due to improved cabin pressure.

Cathay Pacific specialise in full-service long haul travel offering service straight from the heart and the new aircraft will raise the standard even further for passengers. For more comfort on your next trip to Hong Kong and beyond, click here for more information.
