It’s definitely BBQ season again! Burgers make a great quick meal – either for lunch or dinner. Home made burger patties are always delicious, and if you’re really organised, you can make a whole lot at once and freeze them, so that they are ready if a crowd arrives.
They are also an ideal way to fill up hungry tummies of all ages. Pork mince makes a wonderful burger pattie, and for those who find that garlic and onion repeats on them a bit – these are a tasty alternative.
You can fill them with whatever salad vegetables you have available, and add your favourite sauces.
Pork Burger Patties
You will need:
500g pork mince
2 tsp minced ginger
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp chopped herbs (coriander or basil works really well)
1 egg
1/2 cup rolled oats
breadcrumbs
Mix all ingredients together well, form into patties and coat with breadcrumbs. If you are freezing them, a handy tip is to freeze them on baking trays, them once they are frozen, pop them into plastic bags.
These patties are ideal for the BBQ or to pan fry.
