Have you tried the Nymbl app yet?
While the app is designed mainly for those over 65, any New Zealander over 50 years can use it for FREE 😊! Nymbl helps you improve your balance and reduce your chance of falling. Each week we’ll bring you a new exercise to keep you motivated! To find out more about Nymbl, click here.
Week Five
This week (our final week!) our exercise of the week is side leg lifts.
✅ Stand up tall and shift your weight into your right leg.
✅ Lift your left leg out to the side and bring back to the centre.
✅ Repeat this motion on the other side.
Why is this a good balance exercise? This challenges your hip more while standing on one foot.
LAST CHANCE to enter our competition to WIN a $300 voucher! Click here for details.
Week Four
This week our exercise of the week is step back lunges.
✅ Step your left leg back and bend both knees.
✅ Hold this position.
✅ Repeat this motion for the right side.
Why is this a good balance exercise? This improves your comfort with stepping backwards.
Week Three
This week our exercise of the week is half squats.
✅ Put your feet hip-width apart.
✅ Bend your knees about halfway, like you’re about to sit down into a chair.
✅ Come back up to standing.
✅ Repeat this motion.
Why is this a good balance exercise? This is similar to lowering yourself onto a chair.
