Wild and Windy Stars of MatarikiAbout The Wild and Windy Stars of Matariki

The latest Matariki book in popular series by Miriama Kamo and Zak Waipara

A lot of tourists visit Te Mata Hāpuku (Birdlings Flat) in search of beautiful agate stones. But not everyone sees the magic there. Sam and Te Rerehua love to visit with Grandma and Pōua to go eeling, but one night, those sneaky patupaiarehe are up to no good – again – and this time, Sam is in danger!

A companion to Miriama Kamo and Zak Waipara’s popular The Stolen Stars of Matariki, The Twin Stars of Matariki and The Kai Stars of Matariki. This new book is also set in the wild and windy Te Mata Hāpuku in the South Island. Grandma tells the children about two more stars in the Matariki cluster: Waipunarangi, who looks after rain, and Ururangi, who is the whetū of wind. This time, those naughty patupaiarehe are determined to turn Sam into one of them…

A te reo version is also available, KO NGĀ WHETŪ HAUHAU, KO NGĀ WHETŪ TARAKAKA O MATARIKI.
