About We Saw a Spinosaurus

A hilarious romp of imaginative language!

We were trying not to snorus (sometimes school is such a borus), when we heard a growling chorus floating down the corridorus.

Three children spy a dinosaur walking through the school … followed by another … and another … and another! They decide to follow them – and what a surprise they find!

Award-winning author Kyle Mewburn’s stories are noted for being multi-layered, funny and linguistically creative. Children will love joining in with the rhyming, nonsensical words in this fun story. By the same duo that gave us The Blue Gnu, Daron Parton has again teamed up with Kyle and produced some gloriously bold illustrations.

Kyle Mewburn is the author of a range of picture books, including the award winning Kiss! Kiss! Yuck! Yuck!, Old HuHu and Melu. As well as her many picture books, Kyle has written a lot of junior fiction such as the hugely popular Dinosaur Rescue series, which has been published in over 20 countries. Originally from Brisbane, Kyle now lives in a house with a grass roof in Millers Flat, Central Otago. When not writing, Kyle’s free time is consumed in trying to maintain a semi-self-sufficient lifestyle, surrounded by goats, chickens and cats. www.kylemewburn.com

Daron Parton is an award-winning illustrator who was born in the UK, married a Kiwi and moved to New Zealand in 1995. He has been working as an illustrator since 1990 and is also an illustration tutor at Auckland University of Technology. Daron’s books include the popular Scholastic Australia titles: Stupid Carrots and Bedtime is Boring.

    2. Competition closes on the 18th October 2022, winners will be notified via email by 20th October 2022.
    3. It is your responsibility to ensure you correctly enter a New Zealand postal address where the prize can be couriered. GrownUps will not take responsibility for prizes sent to incorrect addresses.
    4. Winners are drawn at random by the GrownUps administration team.
    5. GrownUps employees and family are not eligible to enter.
    6. By entering the giveaway, you approve for GrownUps to use your name on social media as winner of the competition.
    7. One entry per person.
    8. Prize is non transferrable.
    9. You must reside in New Zealand – the prize will only be posted within New Zealand.
