Inspiring conversations with artists from around New Zealand and Australia

Why is art important? What impact does it have on those who make it and on society? Wild Kinship: The Makers sets out to answer these questions through intimate, authentic conversations with a range of artists, from painters, potters and poets to weavers, filmmakers, surfboard shapers and glassblowers. The Makers takes a deep dive into the realities of what it takes to be a creative today and why creativity is essential to our wellbeing.

From the author of Wild Kinship: Conversations With Conscious Entrepreneurs (winner of the Best Commercial Book Award at the PANZ Design Awards 2021 and shortlisted for the NZ Booklovers Award for Best Lifestyle Book 2021) and with beautiful photography by Erin Cave. Note: this book has been produced using environmentally sustainable processes.

Monique Hemmingson is a writer and wellness advocate living mindfully in Mount Maunganui with her husband, James, daughter, Lulu, and dog, Remy. She is passionate about beautiful design, good food, travel, creative entrepreneurship and storytelling. This is her second book.

    1. You must be a GrownUps member and receive our newsletter to be eligible to win.
    2. Competition closes on the 1st November 2022, winners will be notified via email by 3rd November 2022.
    3. It is your responsibility to ensure you correctly enter a New Zealand postal address where the prize can be couriered. GrownUps will not take responsibility for prizes sent to incorrect addresses.
    4. Winners are drawn at random by the GrownUps administration team.
    5. GrownUps employees and family are not eligible to enter.
    6. By entering the giveaway, you approve for GrownUps to use your name on social media as winner of the competition.
    7. One entry per person.
    8. Prize is non transferrable.
    9. You must reside in New Zealand – the prize will only be posted within New Zealand.
