About the author

Samantha Laugesen was born in Christchurch and she moved with her school teacher parents to New Plymouth where she spent her childhood roaming the black sand beaches and bush clad hills of Taranaki – always with a multitude of much-loved family pets and a book in one hand.

It was a childhood filled with silly made-up songs, jokes, and holidays spent on the family dairy farm in Te Awamutu; a place where Sam developed her life-long affinity with cow poo and Red Band gumboots. She perfected the art of silliness by observing the antics of her Dad Kev and his best mate Trev. Sam always had a knack for writing and her writing inspirations are also her passions: animals, farming and not taking life too seriously. Sam lives happily in paradise; a farm nestled in the heart of the Waitaki Valley, North Otago, with her husband and children.

Sam is the author of Kiwi favourites Stuck in Poo, What to do? Gumboot Stomp, and Trevor the Smelliest Dog Ever, with over 50,000 copies sold across the titles.

    2. Competition closes on the 8th November 2022, winners will be notified via email by 10th November 2022.
    3. It is your responsibility to ensure you correctly enter a New Zealand postal address where the prize can be couriered. GrownUps will not take responsibility for prizes sent to incorrect addresses.
    4. Winners are drawn at random by the GrownUps administration team.
    5. GrownUps employees and family are not eligible to enter.
    6. By entering the giveaway, you approve for GrownUps to use your name on social media as winner of the competition.
    7. One entry per person.
    8. Prize is non transferrable.
    9. You must reside in New Zealand – the prize will only be posted within New Zealand.
