If you haven’t ridden the Otago Rail Trail yet, you are missing out.
You follow the route of the former Otago Central railway line for 152km from Clyde to Middlemarch through heartland Central Otago. With no steep hills, it is a easy ride which most people complete over 4- 5 days.
It’s more of a luxury affair than it first sounds. During the evenings you have your pick to stop over at a number of rustic country pubs, charming B&B’s or luxury lodges and you can make your days as strenuous or relaxed as you like. Along the route there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy fresh, local food from roadside cafes or award winning eateries and of course there is the stunning Central Otago wine to enjoy.
After after a hard days cycling you deserve it.
