Residents from Radius Thornleigh Park in New Plymouth recently took a day trip along the coastline to Almosta Horse Ranch. Almosta Ranch is a well-kept secret to those in the horse world and the team could certainly see why.
While residents are surrounded by picturesque grounds with scenic landscape gardens at rest home and hospital Thornleigh Park, they were blown away by the stunning scenery at the horse ranch, a hidden gem so close to home.
Horse farrier, Dave, who runs Almosta, hosted residents for the day putting on a great display of horsemanship and providing insight into the ranch and how it is run. Dave has become known in the local community as a ‘horse whisperer’ having lived around horses all his life.
These regular scenic outings are thoroughly enjoyed by Thornleigh residents often evoking strong memories of their early lives that are good for the soul.
