Val Bird

A 1947 model, Val was both designed and made in New Zealand.

The fourth child in a family of five, her childhood years were spent in Hastings.

In later times Val moved to Whakatane before finally settling in Tauranga for the retirement years. Val is a self-taught writer, always in pursuit of the perfect word. Over the years she has had several books published, but now suffering from arthritis is happy to write purely for pleasure. Val lives contentedly with husband Rosney and a ning-nong Calico Callie cat, who (in different ways) help with her retirement hobby of raising Monarch Butterflies.
