The Global Volunteer Network (GVN) offers volunteer opportunities in community projects throughout the world. We currently provide volunteer programs through our partner organizations in Alaska, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Honduras, India, Kenya, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam. The network continues to expand with new programs currently being researched and assessed.
Our vision is to support the work of local community organizations in developing countries through the placement of international volunteers. We believe that local communities are in the best position to determine their needs, and we provide volunteers to help them achieve their goals.
GVN offers a wide range of volunteer placements: working with orphans or in an orphanage, teaching, health and medical, HIV/AIDS programs, environmental and conservation, wild life sanctuary and reserves, an animal shelter, maintenance and construction, community development, and cultural homestay. There is something for everyone – and everyone who volunteers makes a difference in the community they volunteer in.
Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the global community and gain experience, and also fosters personal growth. Whether you would like to take a short volunteer vacation or a prolonged ‘gap’ year, the Global Volunteer Network provides challenging and affordable international programs.
For those who love to tramp/hike, GVN also offer fundraising hikes. These hikes allow participants an active role in raising funds for communities in need. We currently have hikes planned to Mt. Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu, and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
