It is a 96-page activity book based on Miriama Kamo and Rangi Matamua’s Matariki Around the World.

Illustrator Isobel Joy Te Aho-White has created a variety of drawing and craft pages to celebrate Māori tikanga, supplemented with occasional recipes and word puzzles. A fun book that includes step-by-step instructions on star drawing, tukutuku panels, putiputi harakeke (flax flowers) and much, much more.

Isobel (Izzy) Joy Te Aho-White (Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Kahungungu ki te Wairoa) is a freelance graphic artist and illustrator with a passion for the natural world and Te Ao Māori. She specialises in symbolism and metaphor, and her work is influenced by mythology and folk tales, botanical illustration and life experience. This is the fifth book Izzy has illustrated for

Scholastic, following the first and second BatKiwi stories, Sun Shower and the beautiful, best-selling Matariki Around the World. Izzy currently lives and works in Pōneke/Wellington.

    2. Competition closes on the 12th June 2024, winners will be notified via email by 13th June 2024.
    3. It is your responsibility to ensure you correctly enter a New Zealand postal address where the prize can be sent. GrownUps will not take responsibility for prizes sent to incorrect addresses.
    4. Winners are drawn at random by the GrownUps administration team.
    5. GrownUps employees and family are not eligible to enter.
    6. By entering the giveaway, you approve for GrownUps to use your name on social media as winner of the competition.
    7. One entry per household.
    8. Prize in non transferrable.
    9. You must reside in New Zealand – the prize can only be redeemed within New Zealand.
