The Reckless Foodie – Tracey Bennett

A plant-based, wholefood chef and passionate advocate for the plant-based lifestyle, Tracey shares her decades of experience nurturing and nourishing her family, friends, and retreat attendees in her first much-awaited cookbook. Tracey is passionate about creating, enjoying and sharing delicious and nourishing plant-based food – and inspiring others to do the same with confidence! As a working mother of four (and, more recently, a grandmother of four), Tracey knows how important it is to create simple meals that taste fantastic and are quick and easy to make. She also understands the challenge of being tired and time-poor, yet still wanting to put appealing food on the table without skipping on nutrition, protein and deliciousness.

When she is not busy cooking up a storm and creating new recipes, Tracey takes great pleasure in sharing her love of plant-based food through teaching cooking workshops around the country as well as speaking at festivals and in corporate environments on how to transition to more plant-based eating with ease and deliciousness.

Her special passion is also leading health and wellness retreats around NZ. Having co-led almost 30 weekend retreats over the past five years with husband Jason Shon Bennett they also co-founded an online health & wellness programme called Thelifeplan™ in 2009. She has now begun leading her own Plant-based Cooking 3-day weekend retreats for which the feedback has been outstanding.

While Tracey considers herself an educator first and foremost, she has, in recent years, begun providing boutique plant-based catering and nourishment for special events in the wellness/transformation industry. She enjoys this new arm of her work and loves nourishing people with delicious, nutrient-rich food made with plenty of aroha while they undergo growth, transformational practices, and experiences.
