A favourite in New Zealand, quick to make and keeps the grandkids busy!
Makes 24 | Cook 15min
Ingredients
- 140g butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1¾ cups flour
Method
- Place butter, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan large enough to mix all the ingredients in. Heat through, stirring continuously until butter has melted and the mixture is close to boiling. Allow to cool slightly.
- Dissolve the baking soda in the milk and add to cooled mixture along with the sifted flour. Mix well.
- Roll into balls and place on greased oven tray . Flatten with a fork.
- Bake at 180C for 15 min or until golden.
