Recipes in a jar are such a great gift to give and receive especially if you have teenagers away at university. Here are two recipes you could create for gifts this holiday season.
Chocolate bliss balls
1 cup desiccated coconut- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 cups walnuts
- 8 medjool dates
Method:
Layer all the ingredients except the dates in a jar, pressing firmly after each layer. Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.
Recipe to attach:
Add the contents of the jar and the dates in a food processor with 1/4 cup water and process until the mixture forms a dough. Add a little extra water if needed to ensure it is well combined. Form the dough into medium-sized balls by rolling a portion between your palms. Place the finished balls on a tray lined with baking paper or in a container and chill for 30 minutes before serving.
Note: if the bliss balls wont be made within a couple of weeks put the sunflower seeds and walnuts in a separate jar so they remain fresh.
Chocolate chip cookies
