But, quite honestly, work is one of the best things your teenager could do over the long break. Of course, you know the value of work, but maybe your teens don’t : it connects you to the things you want; it provides friendships and company; it builds your skill base; it gives you self-esteem; it stimulates you and it looks great on your CV. Working teens enjoy being in adult company and feeling like a grown-up. Their first job grows them up and builds them up.
But hey won’t believe a word of that – the only thing that will get them off the X-box is money. So don’t be too generous, cash wise, these holidays. Love them enough to make them needy enough to get a job.
