The Power of Love

Valentine's Day

Wow

Love is in the air.

A friend of mine called me up on the day and said: "I saw Mum gave Dad a card, and it said 'This is our 26th one!"

Imagine that! 26th Valentine's Day!

The day when you realize you still love the person you love (or not).

So with all this love in the air, why not celebrate the love we have for teenagers in our lives!

My challenge to you for this week:

The next time you see the teen in your life, even if…

They just got back from school / Are asking you for money / Starting an argument…

Turn to them, look them straight in the eye and in the most genuine tone say:

"I LOVE YOU"

Now, watch what will happen.

9 times out of 10, they will be taken aback by this rather peculiar comment. And why shouldn't they be: we DO live in a world where money (the root of all evil apparently) rules the world…where newspapers rely heavily on bad news to keep sales up, and where hardly anything is for certain (notice how depressing it all sounds, and I these are all common knowledge).

9 times out of 10 they will turn back to you, and say those same three words, in a genuine tone back.

"Progress!!"

Seriously though, when was the last time your teenager said this to you?

When was the last time you told them you love them – genuinely?

In a world where we assume everything, you'd think we know we love our teenagers and they love us back.

But sometimes, it takes those three simple little words to reassure you – that you ARE amazing. And that they appreciate you…to the ends of the Earth.

Go on – take my challenge!

What happened?
