In May next year the team, it’s wives and girlfriends and it’s many supporters will head to the USA where a three day stopover will include a match against the Hollywood Golden Oldies Cricket Club at the excellent Leo Magnus Cricket complex. It is not well known but there is an enthusiastic cricket fraternity in California who play on outstanding pitches and offer exceptional hospitality.
From Los Angeles the Fingletoads travel to Miami where there is again a three day stop-over with a game against the Caribbean Masters on another very good facility and with more great hospitality.
Both stopovers leave time for a bit of sightseeing and shopping for those who maybe don’t want to spend all their time watching old boys playing cricket. From Miami the team travels to Barbados for 10 days in one of the most wonderful places in the world. A beautiful small island nation with a great climate, superb beaches, great restaurants and very enjoyable hospitality.
A great trip designed for not only cricket players but for people who enjoy the company of cricket people, who may watch the occasional game and who enjoy socialising in a couple of wonderful parts of the world.
The Fingletoads are a team of players between the ages of 45 and 70-some good players, some who just enjoy the game and some who are merely social cricketers. Most are accompanied by wives or partners and there is always a good group of non-playing supporters who just want to enjoy great company, great fun and enjoyable destinations.
