While you’re away on holiday, it’s easy to leave a piece of your heart at your location, and dream of having place by the sea all of your own. Recent surveys show that due to the flexibility and affordability of motorhomes, they are rapidly gaining in popularity as a kiwi holiday option. It’s a great way to get some quality family time, you have everything you need with you and your are really only limited by your imagination when it comes to locations.
Motorhomes are ideal for visiting family who may not necessarily have room for extra guests to stay, or if it is best for everyone to have the ability to get some personal space every now and again!
The number one holiday destination for mobile travellers is still the beautiful Bay of Islands, closely followed by Queenstown. Motor home enthusiasts love that they get to see so much more than their final destination – getting there is half the fun! It is an excellent way to travel with other families too – one van per family, with communal living as it suits at stopping points.
Both Kiwi men and women share the dream to own a motorhome or campervan with men (47%) and women (53%) with those in the main cities of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch being the most keen on ownership.
