Maintaining memory is essential for daily activities and independent living.
I’m Samantha Chan, a first-year Ph.D. student in Bioengineering (Human-Computer Interactions) at Auckland Bioengineering Institute, The University of Auckland. Currently, my Ph.D. work is looking at how can we improve and support everyday memory through digital tools. Together with a research team, we have developed an Android OS smartphone application (app) and we want to evaluate it.
I would like to invite potential participants who might be interested in taking part in my study to get in touch. My study consists of three parts:
1. (FULL) Focus Group, discussion on memory, 1 h 30 min (looking to form a group of 6-8 people.
2. (FULL) Product Evaluation, test out the smartphone app, 1 h 30 min (looking for 8-10 individuals
3. User Study, use the smartphone app over a span of 8 or 15 days (looking for 20-30 individuals who are Android smartphone/tablet users)
We are seeking participants who are:
- 50 – 80 years old (updated!)
- Living independently (able to conduct daily activities without significant help from others)
- Native English speakers or fluent in English
- Familiar with computers and smartphones/tablets
The User Study would be held in August 2018 in Auckland.
If you are interested in taking part or if you have any questions, please email me, Samantha: schb421@
