Gone are the days when you had to make a trip to the post office or shops to pay your bills. In fact these days, you don’t even have to phone in. Increasingly, good services companies have apps or online logins so that you can do most things from your phone or computer, whether it’s viewing your usage, placing an order, or paying a bill.
There are many advantages to managing your affairs through apps or online. One advantage is that you don’t need to have paper bills posted to you. While this is good for the environment (and saves you the hassle of filing or disposing of the bill), it’s also much more secure.
Just think – if you have your bills posted to you, anyone walking by can find out your name, address and account information by raiding the letterbox. This is one of the ways fraudsters carry out identity theft.
Not only is it more secure to manage things online or via an app (provided you keep things secure with strong passwords and pin codes), but it can save you a lot of time and energy. It means you can do it when it suits you, any time of the day or night, from any location, and it’s often a lot quicker than phoning in or going instore.
