Fun Fact #1
In 2011 Neptune turned '1 year old', in a manner of speaking. The eighth planet in our solar system was discovered on September 23, 1846. Neptune takes a 164.8 Earth years to orbit the sun, in 2011 it completed its first orbit of the sun since it was discovered.
However, since it was discovered, Pluto has yet to complete its first orbit around the sun.
Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930. It takes the dwarf planet 248.09 Earth years to complete one orbit around the sun. So based on these calculations, it will complete its first full orbit since its discovery on Monday, March 23, 2178, just a few years after Neptune turns 2.
