Why is a bobby pin called a bobby pin?
In 1899 the bobbing pin came into wide use as the hairstyle known as the “bob cut” took hold. It was invented in Paris by Robert (Bobby) Pinot. As the hairstyle gained popularity the pin became known as “Bobby’s pin.”

What animal has the densest fur?
Unlike most other marine mammals, the sea otter has no blubber and relies on its exceptionally thick fur to keep warm. With up to 150,000 strands of hair per square centimetre, its fur is the densest of any animal.
