About Watson the Detective Dog
A wonderful introduction to the positive impact animals can have on conservation, perfect for young readers.
Sniff, sniff, sniff went the brown puppy.
Back and forth, back and forth.
Watson is training to be a conservation dog, and there is a special species in danger. Some itty-bitty fish – īnanga, or whitebait as you may know them – need saving. In this story about a real-life dog, you’ll learn about how detector dogs like Watson are trained for a role in conservation.
In this winning combination of talent, Susan Brocker brings another true animal tale to life for children, which is beautifully illustrated by one of NZ’s top children’s illustrators, Jenny Cooper.
Watson the Detective Dog is a great introduction to the positive impact that animals can have on conservation at a local level. This is perfect for fans of Friday the Rebel Dog, Bess the Brave War Horse, Mrs Chippy the Cat and Kororā and the Sushi Shop.
