About Cracking the Happiness Code
A practical guide to a happier life from a New Zealand doctor, neuropsychologist and counsellor.
Cracking the Happiness Code is written in easy-to- read, jargon-free language to teach you the ins and outs of how your mind works and to help you achieve the happiness that may be eluding you.
Structured in two parts, the ‘WHY’ of the book details things in your life that may be contributing to your unhappiness, based on scientific studies. These include disorganisation, comparison and victimisation.
The ‘HOW’ of the book gives you practical steps to change your thoughts and routines to create a mind that is in your control – and a controlled mind is ultimately a happy mind. Insightful and practical,
Cracking the Happiness Code explains why happiness can be so hard to achieve and what can be done to overcome the struggle and find the contentment you have been missing.
Authors Note:
I’ve spent a fair share of four decades on this planet gaining a ton of knowledge, insights and experience. First Kuwait, then India, and now New Zealand – living roughly one and a quarter of a decade in each of three countries – where I was provided with an explosion of teachings that I took in my stride and used to fill the chapters in my life’s book.
All my life, I’d played the role of that one person others confided in. People from my school, university, family, and even work colleagues would tell me their secrets. I thought my ‘calling’ to help people had led me down my career path. So, I jumped into the wonderful world of medicine, followed by psychology and then, neuroscience. But then I realised the need to understand them better was the driving force behind my quest. A quest that led me to make a discovery that everyone was seeking the same thing, only in different ways, and struggling to keep it in their lives. The discovery revolved around the emotion of happiness; my definition of that state of being anyway.
And just like that, the idea for this book was born.
My aim is to encourage readers to try a different path to a happier version of themselves – in the comfort of their own home, being provided the necessary code to decipher their own reasons for their struggle with happiness in their life.
