When you love to travel, but are on your own, it can be tricky. It always seems more fun to go with a friend or loved one, but sometimes as a single person, that is hard to organise.

There is no ‘allocated seating’ at mealtimes, so you can sit with whomever you like – there was no shortage of interesting folk to chat to, and as we were all there with the same intention – to have a wonderful and interesting holiday – conversation flowed effortlessly.
The cabins are spacious and beautifully appointed, so I relished my quiet time. They are also laid out to face the view at all times, with enormous windows, so you didn’t miss a peep of the view, whether you are curled up in your room, or enjoying the facilities in the common areas.

To the lady who wrote about single travel and the Avalon Waterways, I am pleased she enjoyed herself and made new friends, but travelling alone for most people is all to do with the cost of a single supplement. I am booking a cruise on Jan 12 for 7 nights all thru NZ and I need someone to share a twin cabin for just NZ$399.00 I have travelled the world on my own but now find a single supplement just too expensive.
