The Best For Kiwis

Beef-Eye-Fillet-300x200We have a huge choice where to buy our meat from in New Zealand. We are also lucky enough that our amazing country produces the best beef, lamb, pork, and chicken in the world!

Quality protein is the building block of a balanced diet, and best of all – it tastes fantastic.

However, did you know that sometimes the best quality meat doesn’t get sold on our shores, it gets shipped off overseas where it can sometimes fetch a higher price?

Quality MeatsQuality Meats is a family business that is passionate about supplying kiwis with the best meat. Owned and operated by Jason and Fiona McIntyre, Quality Meats sources export grade meat and delivers it directly to your door.

Over the next few months we are going to take you on a journey – A journey of how Quality Meats runs and operates, but also, a journey through the meat industry in NZ. We will reveal a few things that you as the consumer may not be aware of.

You have a right to know where your meat comes from and the processes involved – from how and where the animals are farmed, to what is involved in getting the meat onto your plate. This enables you to make a great choice for your health, your family and more broadly, for the future of New Zealand.

Quality MeatsWhen you look into that glass cabinet and choose that succulent piece of scotch fillet, how do you know what you are really buying? That beef animal could have been a bull, a heifer, or a steer. It could have been 18 months old or 6 years old. It could have been grass fed or grain fed. The meat could have been sitting there for 7 hours or 7 days. It can be hard to know how to choose, and the right questions to ask. However, the answers can affect your health, your family and your budget, as well as the wider industry.

We will compare the different ways animals are farmed, i.e. free range Quality Meatscompared to factory farmed. We will explain the processes involved in the butchery and presentation of meat in New Zealand. We will also be giving you the information you as the consumer need to know when you are making the decision on what meat to buy and where to buy it from.

Stay tuned. If you have any specific questions you would like answered, comment below and we will address them as fully as we can.
